Eterspire - Fantasy MMORPG 9+

So excited to see where this goes!

So I’ve been playing this almost the entire day, since I saw it pop up on the Popular section on AppRaven. At the time of this review I am currently level 17.

I think Eterspire has real potential. The game just launched, so the community is quite small. So you’re really getting in on the ground floor here. It is in active development so keep that in mind.

There are no skills, classes, no P2W. There’s no “premium quests” hidden away behind a paywall. In fact while the game does have a premium currency, it’s for cosmetic items such as wings or pets, or teleportation orbs which allow you to get to where you want to go without traversing through each individual area (super handy, if you ask me)

There are ads but they are infrequent and only seem to appear when you travel from area to area. They do not appear *every time* you leave or enter an area though. There is also IAPs which remove those ads entirely (and give you some premium currency to spruce up your avatar!)

Gameplay is simple. You walk up to any of the cute little critters and hit the shiny red attack button that pops up, which triggers an auto battle. Rinse, repeat.

There are a host of NPCS ready and waiting to give you a quest, most of which involve killing a lot do the aforementioned critters. That’s how you earn XP and level up. They’ll drop weapons, armor, runes and shards to upgrade your weapons, capes, and even a rare pet/companion if you’re lucky!

It is very grindy. You’re going to travel from place to place, killing x creature to satisfy x quest - but honestly I don’t mind it one bit. What can I say, I enjoy repetition. If you don’t you might find the game lacking.

I believe there are ‘bosses’ spread through some of the 30+ individual areas for you to take on once you’re ready - with much more planned.

Honestly I’m excited to see where this goes and I’m looking forward to future updates. It is an excellent time killer that doesn’t demand a lot of you. It is incredibly simple and quite frankly I appreciate that.

Personally I would love to see some little achievements added, maybe titles. Daily group bosses were suggested in chat tonight and I LOVED that idea. We shall see what the developers (a team of two!) have in store for us.

Also did I mention the cute creatures already? Seriously, I feel bad for killing them cos they’re stinking CUTE.

Great game with potential

*3 stars but happy to change to 5 stars if you make the much needed fixes*

Here’s my honest review. This is a great game. You can play it completely free. Cash shop is just for cosmetics and extra storage. The dev team is also active and interacts with it’s playerbase regularly. The gameplay itself is fun and smooth too

I give it 3 stars is for 2 reasons:
1) The developers are mindnumbingly fixated on improving mid game. This means adding more zones and quests and upgrades for low-mid level areas. They think this improves player experience and helps player retention. Problem with this is you can easily outlevel early and midgame. I think I got to max level within 2 weeks. Let’s say you get to max level within a month of playing and then find out the devs are adding more for mid game….and it’s taking them months…years to do it…how would that make you feel? They’re also neglecting late game because their focus is on mid game. I’m not saying there’s nothing to do late game. There is. But what they should currently be doing is focusing on late game experience and maybe 1/5 of their time on early game improvements
2) I got to max level in the game a year ago (120) and then ended up quitting. I came back now hoping for more late game things to do and there is! Wow, I can make it to level 160 now! Let’s go! Oh wait..the game is forcing me to go back to starter zones and do low level quests to unlock zones…and I’m not taking about a couple…there’s hours and hours and hours of mindless quests and copious amounts of text for quests I have to go through. I cant access any of the content for my level until I do this. That’s an absolute joykill. The devs want you to experience their handywork in redoing the maps and their storylines. For me personally, I play to play the game. I’m not here to read stories. I’m here for endgame gameplay. And I already went through noobie zones…I don’t want to do it again. I want to experience zones for my level and upgrade my gear and advance. Note: Can’t skip quest text either. Have to click your phone non-stop to get through it all

Another note: pretty sure they do this to you every time they come out with a big update for their early zones. You’re forced to go back and do early game quests. If you don’t, you can’t unlock access to late game zones

I understand that this game is under development. Maybe I’ll come back when these guys are satisfied with their game’s midgame and are putting focus on late game
